Abby Goodman Molina Healthcare

Abby Goodman Molina Healthcare moved from Phoenix to her native southern California in 2015 when she accepted a position with Molina Healthcare, a managed care company based in Long Beach.

Abby Goodman Molina Healthcare is an IT Manager with the company, managing infrastructure and security platforms for its new business, such as mergers, acquisitions, and divestments. She worked hard to reach that position, and says that her first “adult” job was in the golf industry back in Arizona. That job was as an intern to the Frys.com Open (now the Safeway Open), a PGA golf tournament in Scottsdale, and lasted about six months.

From there she found a job with the Arizona Women’s Golf Association, a non-profit that encourages women to enjoy golf, and develop their games. “I was their Membership Programs and Services Coordinator assisting our 25,000-plus members in the state of Arizona,” Abby Goodman Molina Healthcare says. “With over 300 golf courses, my main responsibilities were to make sure all the golf clubs at these courses knew who AWGA was and what we offer outside of maintaining a USGA handicap.

I did AWGA roadshows, coordinated and managed the beginners’ golf program, coordinated and assisted course ratings, enhanced the AWGA website and marketing materials, organized and operated informational booths at large events, and provided assistance on other operational activities to service AWGA members.”

Next Abby Goodman worked at the Apollo Education Group in Phoenix, before being hired by Molina Healthcare.

Abby Goodman Molina Healthcare: Scottsdale Childhood

Abby Goodman is an IT Manager at Molina Healthcare, a managed care company based in Long Beach, California. Abby Goodman Molina Healthcare was born in Los Angeles and spent the first few years of her life there, but moved with her parents to Scottsdale, Arizona, a suburb of Phoenix, when she was in the first grade. She recalls an almost idyllic childhood.

“I was fortunate that our neighbors had kids the same age, so we all grew up together and became good friends throughout our childhood until we went off for college. Had a great childhood, growing up playing basketball in the front yard, bike riding, rollerblading, playing hide and go seek, and going down to the greenbelt to play tag until dinner time.

I was a social butterfly throughout middle school and high school so I always had friends over and I loved coordinating sleepovers and parties. I was the planner of my friends.” Her parents still live in that house, she says, and their neighbors are their best friends.

Later on, she attended the University of Arizona in Tucson, Scottsdale Community College, and Arizona State University in Tempe, where she earned a degree in Recreation and Tourism Management. Abby Goodman has worked for Molina Healthcare since November of 2015.
